The weather forecast looks like it's going to be an amazing sunny day too!😎
Thank you ❤
All of our marshalling points are in and around the area of Beer Head Caravan Park (BHCP).
Park in the Cliff Top Long Stay Car Park just before the entrance to BHCP. This is marked as 'P1' on our 'marshalling points' map (see below).
Use postcode EX12 3AQ, or click the 'directions' image below to open it in Google Maps and enter your home address as the start point.
Parking costs £2 until midnight on the same day, and we'll reimburse you:
EDDC: "The East Devon Winter parking offer will begin on Friday 1st November 2024 and will run until Monday 31st March 2025.
...You can park until midnight on the day of purchasing your ticket for £2.00. Your ticket is also transferable across all other East Devon owned car parks, excluding those listed above [see link].
To make use of this offer ... please buy a ticket from the Pay and Display machine or use Ringo code 42973."
The lower sections of Fore Street and Common Lane in Beer will be closed for part of the race. So you may need to approach BHCP along Southdown Road via Underleys (passing the Beer Primary School and Pecorama turn-off) and Park Road. This is the route shown on the map above. Please allow extra time for this detour as the roads can get congested with parked cars.
Green arrows: Driving approaches to car parks 'P1' and 'P2' (circled in yellow).
Light blue arrows: Outbound running route, passing through marshalling points Z, A, B, C and D.
Red arrows: Return running route, passing through marshalling points W, X, Y and Z.
Red cross: 'Role 1 Medical' first response team, water station and toilets (dashed circle between marshalling points A, Y and Z.
Beer Head Bistro: As marked!
Aside from allowing extra time for road detours, please aim to arrive with plenty of time to park at 'P1' (or 'P2') and walk to your marshalling point.
Smile! Clap! Cheer! Encourage! And most importantly, be there for the safety of runners if any of them need help.
Role 1 Medical are providing first aid cover for the whole event. They will be dispatched by contacting Race HQ on the telephone number provided on the day. Our nearest first response team are based in the middle of BHCP − so very local to us.
When calling in, please state clearly:
• The runner's race number. Check for any additional medical information that may be written on the back of their bid.
• An estimate of their condition.
Your marshal point number, MP##:
A = MP 27
B = MP 28
C = MP 29
D = MP 30
W = MP 160
X = MP 161
Y = MP 162
Z = MP 25
If your mobile phone runs out of battery or you can't get a signal, then send another member of your marshalling team (or yourself, if solo) to the next nearest marshalling point or directly to the first aid point in BHCP.
In life-threatening or extreme emergencies, dial 999 as normal.
It is important that you still inform Race HQ immediate afterwards, so that a (closer) Role 1 Medical team can also be dispatched.
Don't worry − you can't do anything wrong as long as you communicate any issues straight away. Race HQ will then take charge and advise you on the next steps.
We have no need to marshal traffic at any of our marshalling points. If needed, Role 1 Medical are aware of how to drive carefully in and out of BHCP.
